Betty Hanneschaleger

Betty Hanneschlaeger was a female guard at two concentration camps during World War II.

Betty Hanneschlaeger was born on August 2, 1916 in Augsburg, Germany. Little is known about her life before her enlistment as an SS auxiliary in 1944. On August 20, 1944, Betty began her training course for four weeks at the Ravensbruck camp near Berlin under wardress Dorothea Binz. In late September 1944 she accompanied a transport of women prisoners to the Dachau camp near her hometown. She stayed in the camp until its final days in April 1945. She was never apprehended, prosecuted of punished for war crimes.
