Biggar is a town located in Saskatchewan, Canada. It is the hometown of 1998 Olympic gold medalist in women's curling, Sandra Schmirler. It is also home to the World Famous "Hanson Buck". Prairie Malt Limited, a large barley processing plant, is also located in Biggar. Some of the best barley in the world is grown within a one hundred kilometre radius of Biggar. The malthouse has an annual capacity of 220,000 metric tonnes. Malt is a primary ingredient in beer.
The town is known for its slogan "New York is big, but this is Biggar."
