Biggar, Saskatchewan

Biggar is a town located in Saskatchewan, Canada. It is the hometown of 1998 Olympic gold medalist in women's curling, Sandra Schmirler. It is also home to the World Famous "Hanson Buck"[1]. Prairie Malt Limited, a large barley processing plant, is also located in Biggar. Some of the best barley in the world is grown within a one hundred kilometre radius of Biggar. The malthouse has an annual capacity of 220,000 metric tonnes. Malt is a primary ingredient in beer.

The town is known for its slogan "New York is big, but this is Biggar."
