Bill Foulkes
Bill Foulkes (born January 5, 1932 in St. Helens) was an English football player. Bill came through the junior ranks at Manchester United. His first game for the club came against arch-rivals Liverpool in 1952. He was a central defender for the great Busby Babes teams of the 1950's. He was a survivor of the Munich air disaster. Bill won many awards for the club, including 4 League Championship medals (1956, 1957, 1965, and 1967). He also won one F.A. Cup in 1963. He also helped United win the European Cup in 1968. Bill played 679 games for the club, second only to Bobby Charlton, and scored 9 goals in all competitions. He was also capped once for England.
