Binding
Binding is:
- A type of knot, see binding (knot).
- The protective cover of a book, see bookbinding.
- A device by which the foot is connected to a ski, see ski binding.
- A device by which the foot is connected to a snowboard.
- In computer science, a tie to certain names in programming languages, see binding (computer science).
- In pharmacology, biochemistry, and chemistry, binding describes the reversible association of molecules, e.g. the binding of a ligand to a receptor, or the binding of a metal ion by a chelator.
- In linguistics, a property relating to anaphors (pronouns and R-expressions ) and c-command. See binding (linguistics).
