The term bit may have one of the following meanings:
- Bit is an information unit used in computing and information theory.
- BIT is an acronym for Built-In Test.
- Bit (money) is 1/8 of a dollar: two bits is a quarter, i.e, 25 cents.
- A bit is a piece of metal placed in a horse's mouth and connected to reins to direct the animal.
- A bit, also called a drill bit is fitted to a rotary drill and is used to drill holes.
