Blackie and the Rodeo Kings
Blackie and the Rodeo Kings are a Canadian folk rock/alternative country "supergroup". The band consists of Stephen Fearing, Colin Linden and Tom Wilson.
The band originally came together to record a tribute album to Canadian songwriter Willie P. Bennett. That album, High or Hurtin', was released in 1996. The band's name was taken from one of Bennett's songs, "Blackie and the Rodeo King".
The band have since recorded two more albums, 1999's Kings of Love and 2003's Bark. The later albums still featured covers of Bennett's songs, but included some original material by the band members and covers of other songwriters, such as Bruce Cockburn, Fred Eaglesmith and David Wiffen.
