Blades of Steel

Blades of Steel is an ice hockey computer game for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), released by Konami in 1988. All teams are fictional. The game is known for its fast paced hockey action and fighting.

With one or two player play, you controled a team of five hockey players and a goalie. Fighting in the game occurs whenever two players constantly bump into each other. The fight screen appears and the players take control of their players. The loser goes to the Penalty Box.

In between periods, ads for classic Konami games appear on the scoreboard.

This game also featured distinct voice technology , which was rare at this time in NES history. Most notably, the voice said "Blades of Steel" during the beginning of the game, "FIGHT!" when a fight broke out, and an indecipherable "with the pass" or "its the pass" or "hit the pass" whenever the player passed the puck.
