Blu Cantrell
Blu Cantrell (born October 1 1976) is an American R&B singer who has enjoyed substantial pop crossover success. Cantrell is half-African American and half Caucasian.
She released her first album So Blu in 2001 when she was 25 years old. So Blu's main single "Hit 'Em Up Style (Oops)", produced by Dallas Austin, peaked at #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and at #12 in the UK. In 2003, her second album "Bittersweet" spawned a surprise UK smash hit, "Breathe", a collaboration with Sean Paul. Despite never being playlisted by BBC Radio 1, the song unexpectedly entered the UK chart at #1 and stayed there for four weeks. It was also a major hit in many European countries, but never climbed out of the lower half of the US Hot 100.
