Boris Delaunay
Boris Nikolaevich Delaunay (March 15, 1890 in Petersburg – July 17 1980 in Moscow) (or Delone; Russian language: Борис Николаевич Делоне), was a Soviet/Russian mathematician. He worked in the fields of modern algebra, the geometry of numbers, and mathematical crystallography. The Delaunay triangulation is named in his honor.
(The spelling Delone is a straightforward transliteration from the Cyrillic alphabet. Delaunay is a French-style transcription of his name that he himself preferred because his French ancestors spelled their name that way.)
