Braunlage
Braunlage is a health resort in the Goslar district in Lower Saxony in Germany. It lies in the Harz region, south of the Brocken mountain. Braunlage is at situated at the federal highways 4 and 27.
In the year 2004 Braunlage had 5476 inhabitants.

History
Braunlage started out as a pit settlement in the forest in the 14th century, which was revived in 1561. In the 17th century it was a small market town, finally in 1934 it received municipal status as a health resort.
In 1963 it became the location of the longest aerial tramway (of Northern Germany), with a length of 1362 meters and a height difference of 250 meters to the mountain station on the Wurmberg mountain.
On May 7th, 1964 Gerhard Zucker demonstrated on the Hasselkopf hill a flight of mail rockets. One of these rockets exploded, killing three persons.
