Bugarup is the apparent capital or principal city of Fourecks, the Australia-like continent in Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. Bugarup has a harbour, with an opera house that looks like a box of tissues. It also has a prison, in which the prime minister resides. All politicians in Fourecks are locked up after they are elected, because it saves time. Bugarup has a regular festival very similar to the gay mardi gras . There is also a university for wizards, motto: Nullus Anxietas. The university is similar in some ways to Unseen University in Ankh-Morpork, although rather than an 800-foot tall Tower of Art they have one that is thirty feet tall on the outside but several miles tall on the inside. The Archancellor or 'archchancellor' of Bugarup university is Bill Rincewind , apparently some kind of very distant relative of everyone's favourite cowardly wizard, also called Rincewind. Bugarup is a thinly-veiled version of Sydney.
