Bunsei
Bunsei (文政) was a Japanese era after Bunka and before Tempō and spanned from April 22 (?), 1818 to December 10 (?), 1830. The reigning emperor was Ninkō.
Change of Era
Because of the enthronement of Emperor Ninkō, on April 22, Bunka 15 (1818), the era name was changed to Bunsei.
Source of Name
From Emperor Shun, "舜察天文、斉七政" (Shun understands heavens will, equal seven governments???)
