Cable ACE Awards

The Cable ACE Awards was an awards show that ran from 1978 to 1997 that honored excellence in cable television programing. It was created originally a cable television counterpart the Emmy Awards, which did not recognize cable television programing as eligible for Emmy awards in cable tv's early days. Even after the Emmy Awards started including cable tv programming in its awards in 1988, the Cable ACE Awards continued until 1997 when it's organizers finely decided that the Emmy Award where sufficiently recognizing cable tv programing making a separate awards show unnecessary.
