Calzone
A calzone is an Italian turnover made of pizza dough and stuffed with mozzarella cheese, and sometimes also ricotta cheese, meat, vegetables, etc. The dough is folded over, sealed along one edge and baked in an oven. Calzone is often served with marinara sauce.
It is similar or the same as another dish called stromboli.
This dish causes some confusion for Central Americans where "calzones" (pronounced cal-ZON-es) are girls' underpants.
There is a reference to calzone in Dan Brown's "Digital Fortress" where Jabba the obese tech munches on a peperoni calzone even after spilling "Dr Pepper" cola all over it.
