Campeonato Brasileiro

The Campeonato Brasileiro is the name for the Brazilian soccer league.

The competition was established in 1971 replacing two preceding national competitions, the Taça Brasil and the Torneio Roberto Gomes Pedrosa.

It is composed of 3 divisions:

  • Série A (First Division)
  • Série B (Second Division)
  • Série C (Third Division)

Champions of Série A

In 1987 there were "two leagues" run concurrently; for CONMEBOL the CBF league is the official

The two leagues: in reality were only one league, but in the final of the tournament clube dos 13 boycotted the CBF league

Champions of Série B

Between 1973 and 1979 and in 1986, 1987, 1993 and 2000 the Série B was not played.

  • 2004 União Barbarense

Between 1981 and 1987 and in 1989, 1991, 1993 and 2000 the Série C was not played.
