- Sirmium (Sremska Mitrovica) – One of four capital cities of Roman Empire (293 AD), capital of Roman Pannonia (10 AD), capital of Lower Pannonia (103 AD), capital of Pannonia Secunda (296 AD), capital of Byzantine Pannonia (6th century), residence of Sermon, ruler of Srem (11th century), capital of Theme Sirmium (11th century).
- Debrc – Residence of Stefan Dragutin, king of Srem (1282-1316).
- Kupinik (Kupinovo ) – Residence of Serbian despots (15th and 16th centuries).
