Cardinal Stephen Kim Sou-hwan
Cardinal Stephen Kim Sou-hwan, is the present senior Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church and the former Archbishop of Seoul. Cardinal Kim was raised to the rank of Cardinal by Pope Paul VI on 28th of April, 1969, having become the Archbishop of Seoul in 1968. At the age of 46, he was the youngest Cardinal in 20th Century. He had participated in the two conclaves of 1978.
In 1998, Cardinal Kim retired as the Archbishop of Seoul. In 2003, he became the senior Cardinal of the College of Cardinals. As Cardinal Kim is over eighty at the death of Pope John Paul II, he was not a participating member of the conclave that chose Benedict XVI.
