Carpatair

Carpatair is a Romanian airline company with its hub based in Timişoara, western Romania (Transylvania), that offers flights between Romanian cities and other cities in Europe, mainly in Italy and Germany. It is growing in terms of market share against TAROM and is the second-largest Romanian airline. Carpatair started its operations March 1999 in Cluj-Napoca.

One interesting aspect of Carpatair is that it does not fly to Bucharest, the explanation being that it seeks to connect regional airports, especially in Transylvania, to international destinations, since Bucharest is already connected internationally by multiple other airlines. Because it was one of the first airlines to fly internationally from Tranyslvania, it has been very successful in that it has not received much competition from other airlines. Its network continues to expand quickly with the addition of new destinations, mostly in Germany and Italy. Its emphasis on Transylvania has also broadened lately - it now flies to eastern Romanian destinations such as Constanţa and Iaşi.

Destinations

Carpatair currently serves 22 towns and cities throughout Romania, Italy, Germany, Hungary and Moldova:
