Casket Match
Casket Match is a type of match in professional wrestling closely linked to the gimmick of The Undertaker. To win the match all that must be done is to ensure the opponent is in the casket and the lid is shut, everything else is therefore legal.
To date there have been numerous casket matches in World Wrestling Entertainment, all featuring The Undertaker, including:
- November 1992 - The Undertaker versus Kamala.
- January 1994 - Yokozuna versus The Undertaker, Yokozuna retains his WWF (now WWE) Championship.
- November 1994 - The Undertaker versus Yokozuna, special ringside enforcer Chuck Norris.
- 1996 - The Undertaker versus Goldust, Intercontinental Championship.
- January 1998 - Shawn Michaels versus The Undertaker, WWF Championship, Michaels retains the WWF Championship.
- January 30, 2005 - The Undertaker versus Heidenreich.
The Nashville-based NWA:TNA promotion has also held a casket match on September 17, 2003, with Sonny Siaki defeating D-Lo Brown.
