POP Montréal International Music Festival is five heady nights each autumn where expressive and innovative artists who are creating the sounds that resonate with today's audiences run amok through Montreal's Plateau district. Breaking away from industry lead events, POP remains firmly entrenched in the ethic and aesthetics of the Montreal music community and is commited to providing opportunities for independent musicians, promoters and fans to participate in this world class uber-underground event. In addition to music, POP states events to focus attention on political and social activism, independent film and photography (and as always, unhinged loft parties stretching beyond the wee hours of the morning).
