Category:Irregular military

This category is for armed groups that use terrorist tactics i.e. violence targeting civilians in order to achieve political goals, by creating an atmosphere of terror in the attacked population. The category does not include government agencies that use terrorist means (see state terrorism, state persecution), nor does it include guerrilla groups (unless they also use terrorist tactics), who attack state authorities rather than civilians, with the ultimate objective of destabilising the authority. The means of violence are not taken into account, nor is the political ideology espoused. Finally, inclusion in this category is only descriptive of the tactics used, and not a judgment on the legitimacy of the group's political aims.

For individuals, see: Category:Terrorists.
