Catholic Church in Benin
The Catholic Church in Benin is part of the worldwide Roman Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope and curia in Rome.
The Roman Catholic Church is the world's largest Christian Church, and its largest religious grouping. There are an estimated 1.5 million baptised Catholics in the Republic of Benin, 23% of the population, in 88 Dioceses. There are 440 priests and 900 men and women in religious orders.
