Cavalry wing
The term cavalry wing, generally used regarding the military, can mean many things. The first and most common use for it is as a "wing", or section, of a military formation (for example, the 4th Cavalry Wing).
Another use, mainly in the British Army, and possibly in other Commonwealth militaries, is as the section of the army (usually) that comprises of either traditional cavalry (i.e. people on horses) or armor (modern cavalry). The British Cavalry Wing became defunct in 1939, with the advent of the Royal Armoured Corps.
