Celestial marriage
Celestial Marriage is a doctrine particular to the Mormon religious movement. It is variously described as an "ordinance" and a "covenant". Whether it is plural or monogamous is not clearly agreed upon. Mormon fundamentalists cleave to the traditional interpretation that connects the two (i.e. plural and celestial marriage) while the LDS Church, well... that remains to be elicited from them by careful, precise questioning. While plural marriage is eschewed today, as it has been since The Manifesto (the 1890 Official Declaration by then LDS President Wilford Woodruff ending the sanction for plural marriage), it is suggested that it, Celestial Marriage as plural marriage, will be reinstated or recommence after the Second Coming.
