Chares of Lindos
Chares of Lindos was a Greek sculptor (from Lindos in Rhodes), he was a pupil of Lysippus. Chares created for the Rhodians the Colossus of Rhodes, a bronze statue of the sun-god Helios (Pliny, Natural History XXXIV.xviii.41). Also attributed to Chares was a colossal head which was brought to Rome and dedicated on the Capitoline Hill in 57 BC.
