Charles de Vere Beauclerk, Earl of Burford
Charles Francis Topham de Vere Beauclerk, Earl of Burford is the current Duke of St Albans. An eccentric character, he is married to the Canadian soft porn actress Louise Robey . In 1999, Burford briefly shot to fame when he leapt onto the Woolsack in the House of Lords and shouted "Treason!" during a debate on the abolition of voting right for hereditary peers. He is descended from Edward de Vere, 17th Earl of Oxford, and has played a prominent role in promoting the Oxfordian theory that his ancestor wrote the works of William Shakespeare.
