Chet Powers
Chet Powers, also known as Dino Valente, was an American singer / songwriter.
He was born 7 August 1943 in New York City.
In the early 1960s, while a member of the Greenwich Village folk scene, he wrote Get Together, a quintessential 60s love and peace anthem, later recorded by Jefferson Airplane. He was an original member of Quicksilver Messenger Service, but his career was blighted by frequent drug-busts.
He died 16 November 1994 in Santa Rosa, California.
