Chevy Chase Section Five is a village located in Montgomery County, Maryland. It was founded as a Special Tax District in 1922 and was incorporated as a village in 1982. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 641.
Chevy Chase Section Five is located at 38°58'59" North, 77°4'29" West (38.983060, -77.074786).
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 641 people, 224 households, and 189 families residing in the village. The population density is 2,474.9/km² (6,114.6/mi²). There are 228 housing units at an average density of 880.3/km² (2,174.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 95.94% White, 0.16% African American, 0.00% Native American, 1.25% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.03% from other races, and 0.62% from two or more races. 3.90% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 224 households out of which 48.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 76.8% are married couples living together, 5.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 15.6% are non-families. 13.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
