Chris Burke
Chris Burke (born August 26, 1965 in Point Lookout, New York) is an American actor with Down syndrome who played Corky Thatcher on the famous series Life Goes On.
Burke was born in 1965 and was lovingly raised by his family and encouraged to follow his desires. He set his sights on being an actor and after attending night classes, going through auditions, writing scripts and reading books, become a hit. Chris Burke got his start in the ABC movie "Desperate" and his performance showed such heart and quality that network executives at ABC created Life Goes On with Burke's character as the main role. Life Goes On propelled Burke into fame and wide recognition. In 1992 Burke wrote a widely read autobiography A Special Kind of Hero. Burke currently spends his time traveling, delivering inspirational speeches and singing with a music group. Burke occasionally appears in guest roles on various television shows such as ER and The Commish.
