Christina Schmidt

Christina Schmidt (born September 16, 1987), sometimes credited as "Chrissy Schmidt", is a Canadian actress who was born in the Kitchener-Waterloo area.

Schmidt took acting classes with television actor Dean Armstrong , known in the United States for his participation on Showtime's Queer as Folk series. She also trained, before becoming an actress, with Kids on Camera , and Second City, two prestigious training companies for aspiring actors.

Her classes led to her first appearance, in the 2000 short film Notes from Mother.

Soon enough, she was hired to play Terri in the Canadian television hit Degrassi: The Next Generation. Playing Terri represented a challenge for the teenaged actress, because the character is in a violent relationship with a boy who gets jealous over such trivial things as catching her talk about a male singer, for example.

Schmidt became famous across Canada after she joined Degrassi: The Next Generation. The Degrassi series has remained a viewer favorite there since 1979.

By 2005, Schmidt had begun to gain some fame in other countries as well, as the show was being shown in places like Australia and the United States, where it is shown by Nickelodeon's The N channel.
