The Circle Jerks
(Redirected from Circle Jerks)
For the masturbatory practice see circle jerk.
The Circle Jerks are a punk rock band formed circa 1978 in Los Angeles, California. They, along with such bands as Black Flag and Bad Religion, were among the preeminent punk bands of the L.A. scene in the early '80s. They had a brief appearance in Alex Cox's early film Repo Man (although a member of the band Zander Schloss , had a substantial role).
'Circle jerks' for a time was often used as a slang term to describe various sub-culture teens who perhaps didn't necessarily fit the punk "criteria", but rejected the conformity of the mainstream in both real or superficial ways.
