Clarke Stadium
Clarke Stadium was a Canadian football stadium that formerly stood in Edmonton, Alberta. The stadium was originally built in 1938 and sat 20,000 for football in grandstands on opposite sidelines. The stadium hosted the Edmonton Eskimos from 1954-1976, when the team moved to Commonwealth Stadium, built in an adjacent lot. The stadium continued to be used for other purposes for many years, including the 1978 Commonwealth Games, and was demolished on May 3, 2000.
