Clinic (band)
Clinic are a Liverpool band whose fast-paced, eclectic sound is best described as belonging to part of the Cosmic Scouse scene, although in reality they are forerunners to the likes of The Coral and The Zutons (their debut album, Internal Wrangler , was released in 2000). According to their website they sound like "no other band". This is probably true.
Clinic's trademarks are their penchant for surgical masks (a reflection on their name) and lead singer Ade Blackburn's clenched-teeth vocals (although some of their songs are instrumentals). One paradox usually applied to Clinic by the rock press (well, the section of it that pays much attention to them) is that whilst none of the songs on Internal Wrangler sounded much like each other, all their albums since Internal Wrangler have sounded exactly like it.
