Clock Spider

The Clock Spider is an internet meme consisting of three photographs of a massive huntsman spider. The meme began in the GameFAQs Life, the Universe and Everything (LUE) community.

According to the LUE community's mythology, the Clock Spider is a spider who "ate" a wall clock. In actuality, it was simply hiding behind the clock, and the photographer removed the clock to take the latter photos. The lore associated with the clockspider is that it had a ninth leg that broke off in a fight with Limecat. The leg that rose into the sky was worshipped as God. Some internet message board participants will "sacrifice" clocks (generic clip-art of alarm clocks, Big Ben, etc.) to the Clock Spider.

Three pictures of the spider exist. The first picture shows four of the spider's legs poking out from behind the clock, between 7 and 9 on the clock. The second picture shows the wall from a distance with the clock removed, revealing that the spider is very large and hairy. The third picture is a close-up of the spider itself.

Use of the Clock Spider spread to the Warcraft 3 community, where a troll registered the username CLOCKSPIDER. The troll claims to be a former member of the LUE community. The CLOCKSPIDER troll would make flash videos of the Clock Spider "pwning" another Warcraft 3 user by the name of "TillerMan", telling people how gosu he is. According to this version of the myth, you must "watch j00r clocks" (watch your clocks), because Clock Spider can appear at any time. This user is still active (See external links).
