Coatbridge is a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is also the largest town in the district of Monklands, a district which also contains Airdrie, Plains and other smaller villages. In the last century, Coatbridge was a heavy industry town, which has led to deprivation as the steel and coal industries collapsed.

The local football team is Albion Rovers F.C.

There are a few "famous" duos who come from Coatbridge, namely Hue and Cry and Fran and Anna . Britney Spears recently relaxed in the Coatbridge's Hollywood Bowl in preparation for a concert at Glasgow's SECC.

Coatbridge is served by 4 different railway lines, namely Motherwell-Cumbernauld Line , Whifflet Line, North Clyde Line and Argyle Line. Within these lines 7 train stations are located in Coatbridge, Whifflet, Kirkwood , Blairhill , Coatbridge Sunnyside , Coatdyke and Coatbridge Central .
