Connectivity

(Redirected from Computer connector)

Connectivity is the property of a device such as a PC, peripheral, PDA, mobile phone, robot, home appliance, or car that enables it to be connected, generally to a PC or another device without the need of a PC - autonomously.

The term connectivity is also used in Graph theory, where it extends the concept of adjacency and is essentially a form (and measure) of concatenated adjacency. See Glossary of graph theory.

Computer connector

A computer connector is any connector used within computers or to connect computers to networks, printers or other devices. Generally, these connectors have specific names that provide more precise identification, and use of those names is encouraged. Some common computer connectors are D-subminiature, edgecard, Centronics, USB, FireWire, BNC, RJ-11, and various pin and socket designs on 0.100 inch and 2 mm pitches. Most computer connectors are electrical or optical.
