Concurrent engineering

Concurrent engineering is when performance, testability , manufacturability , service, cost and quality are all taken into account before initial designs are made. This type of engineering allows lots of different stages of development go on at the same time, allowing for any modifications to be made along the way. It adopts a problem prevention method as compared to the problem solving and re-designing of the traditional engineering method. This is known as the manufacture and support process. With this process each stage of the development is considered when designs are being drawn up. The advantage brought about by this type of engineering is lower overall costs due to short life cycle costs. It is now implemented using IES and is designed to compete in today's market.
