Courtmacsherry
Courtmacsherry (Irish: Cúirt Mhic Shéafraidh) is a picturesque sea-side village in County Cork, Republic of Ireland, on Ireland's southern coast.
It's main industry is fishing, although catches, especialy in mackeral, have fallen away in recent years. It also has a medium sized tourism industry in the summer, having several nearby beaches, namely Dunworly beach, and Murphy's Beach. There is also a hotel in the village, catering mainly for tourists from the city of Cork. There is also a caravan park, serving much the same purpose. Recently, several housing developments have been built, both in the medow and out by the church. About half of these are lioved in permanenlty, the other half being let out in the summer. There are several bars and pubs in and around the village, The Lifeboat being one of the most conspicuios. Others in clude the Anchor, run by Billy, and The Pier House. There is a hotel bar, but this is namely used by the younger, and usually underage patrons of the caravan park. The best pub in the whole area is undoubtly Mary O'Niels pub, the Cardiff Hall, named after a ship that sunk of the coast near the village of Butlerstown.
