Covenanter tank
The Covenanter was a British Cruiser tank of World War II.
It was designed as a replacement model for the Crusader however technical problems with the design lead to serious engine cooling problems. These problems combined with the availability of American tanks meant that none of the 1700 Covenanters produced saw action.
It was named for the Covenanters, a faction in the British Isles at the time of the English Civil Wars, and was the first tank design to be given a name.
