Cupcake
A cupcake is a small cake baked in a cup-sized pan, usually the same style of multiple-compartment pans used for baking muffins. The pans are often lined with paper baking cups so that the cupcakes don't stick to the pan. As with larger cakes, frosting and decorations are usually applied.
Cupcakes are often served during celebrations, such as classroom birthday parties. They provide a simpler alternative to cake because they don't require plates or utensils.
