Délégation Générale pour l'Armement
The Délégation Générale pour l'Armement ("General Delegation for Weaponary"), or DGA, is the French government service which conducts development and evaluation programs for weapon systems for the Military of France (the nuclear warheads and the nuclear submarine powerplants are designed by the division of military applications of CEA).
It also formerly a division for building warships, Direction des Constructions Navales ("direction of naval building"), now formed into a corporation, DCN.
In addition, it supervises the running of engineering schools run under the supervision of the Ministry of Defense (École Polytechnique, ENSTA).
