Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology
Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology is an educational institution situated in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. It is named after the Gujarati entrepreneur and Reliance group founder Dhirubhai Ambani
The name of the institution is usually abbreviated to DA-IICT and its students are called DA-IICTians
DA-IICT was established in 2001. Initially offering only the BTech program in ICT (Information and Communication Technology), it now offers M.Des.,MS(IT), MTech(ICT), MS(IT-Agriculture) and PhD programs.
The first batch of DA-IICT passed out in 2004. Th first batch consisted of postgradute students from the MTech(ICT), MS(IT) and MS(IT-Agriculture) programs. The first batch of graduates (students of the Btech (ICT) program) will pass out in 2005.
DA-IICT's annual techfest (technology festival) is called "Synapse". Blitz is DA-IICT's annual culfest (cultural festival)
Many from the first batch have been placed in prestigious companies of India such as Tata Consultancy Services, Reliance Infocomm, Persistent Systems Private Limited , Infosys and Hewlett-Packard
