German Football Association

The German Football Association (DFB) (German: Deutscher Fußball-Bund) is the governing body of football in Germany. It organises the German football leagues, including the national league, the Bundesliga and the men's and women's national teams. It was a founding member of both FIFA and UEFA. It is based in Frankfurt. It is divided into five regional federations with 21 regional organizations.
It was founded in 1900 in Leipzig by representatives of 86 clubs. Today, over 26,000 clubs are members, totalling over 6 million members, the largest membership of any sports federation in the world.
