DShK
The DShK (ДШК, for Дегтярёва Шпагина Крупнокалиберный, Degtyarev-Shpagin Large-calibre) is a Soviet heavy anti-aircraft machine gun, firing 12.7×107 mm Soviet cartridges. It is named for weapons designers Vasily Degtyarev and Georgi Shpagin , and sometimes nicknamed Dushka, from the abbreviation.
History
The DShK was originally produced, in small quantities, in 1934.
In 1938, the DShK-38 variant was introduced. This was used during World War II.
In 1946, the DShK-38/46, or DShKM, was introduced.
As well as the Soviet Union and Russia, the DShK has been manufactured by a number of countries, including China, Pakistan and Romania.
