Dahuk, Iraq
Dohuk is a town in Iraq. It has 400,000 inhabitants. The name Dohuk comes from Kurmanji Kurdish meaning small village.
The Assyrian name for the city is Nuhadra. The population of Dohuk/Nuhadra is Kurdish and Assyrian. It's the heart of the Badinan population of the Kurds. Circled by mountains, along the Tigris river, Dahuk is very attractive to tourists. Dahuk population grew extremely since the 1990's as the rural population moved to the cities.
