Dallas Texans (NFL)

The Dallas Texans played in the National Football League for one season, 1952, with a record of 1–11.

The Texans were the last NFL member team ever to fold, sold by the team's owners back to the league midway through the season. The NFL then dissolved the team at the end of the season. The team wound up playing their final two "home" games at the Rubber Bowl in Akron, Ohio.

For the 1953 season, what remained of the Texans organization was awarded to the city of Baltimore to form a new Baltimore Colts team to replace the one which had folded after the 1950 season.

Another Dallas Texans team would play in the American Football League in the early 1960s before becoming the Kansas City Chiefs.
