Daniel Bedingfield

Daniel Bedingfield was born on December 3, 1979 in New Zealand, moving to the UK when he was a child. After a song called "Gotta Get Thru This" (which he recorded in his bedroom) gathered momentum on white label, it went on to become a #1 hit in the UK Top 40 in December 2001. He has since had 2 more #1 singles ("If You're Not The One" and "Never Gonna Leave Your Side") as well as 2 other top 10 singles and a top 30 single. His album also titled Gotta Get Thru This , also reached #2 in the UK albums chart. Bedingfield is an outspoken Christian, whose parents are missionaries. He openly shares his faith during concerts and occasionally in his songs. [1]

He was subsequently signed to Polydor Records and has been one of their most successful artists in recent years. As well as critical acclaim, he won a Brit award in 2004 for Best British Male Artist. Heartfelt ballad "If You're Not The One" is widely considered as one of the best UK singles so far this decade. He has recovered after a car accident on holiday in New Zealand. His sister Natasha Bedingfield has also had considerable success with her own songs in 2004 and has also released an album of her own.

In 2004, he released a new album, Second First Impression , which reached #8 in the UK. It differed from his first album in that he was able to utilise the talents of many other talented musicians- it sounds more mature and is musically much richer. However, in being more credible than the first album it is perhaps inevitably less commercial and as yet has sold very poorly compared to his first offering . The first single, "Nothing Hurts Like Love", reached #3 in the UK, the second "Wrap my words around you" peaked at number 12.
