Daniel Carter Beard
Daniel Carter Beard, 1850-1941, "Uncle Dan" originally had an organized program for young boys called the Sons of Daniel Boone in 1906 which was another inspiration to Lord Robert Baden-Powell for the foundation of the "Boy Scouts."
Beard was a Freemason.
