Dark Samus

Appearing first in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Dark Samus is the evil counterpart of Samus Aran. Dark Samus is thought to be Samus's corrupted suit being inhabited by Metroid Prime, from the first Prime game. She has many of the same abilities as Samus, but better--she shoots Missiles faster, her Power Beam has a shotgun effect, she can hover, she has a powerful Phazon dash attack, a Phazon shield, and an incredibly powerful Boost Ball attack. She can also render herself invisible in the normal spectrum to where she can only be seen using the Dark Visor or Echo Visor. This creature is utterly dependent on finding a plentiful supply of Phazon for sustenance; nothing will stop her in this errand. She can also reassemble her body short of complete atomic disruption. Samus defeated this creature three times on Aether, (in four forms, in the last battle she transforms sporadically during the fight, raising a nearly impenetrable force field only penetrated by phazon energy) succeeding the last time only by using Dark Samus's mighty Phazon Beam against it. However, Dark Samus was later spotted escaping Aether in her broken form. Dark Samus has no allegiances but to herself, seen frequently killing Space Pirates in her never ending quest for Phazon. According to log entries, the Space Pirates tried and failed in reasoning with her. Whether "she" can communicate in some non-primal way is unkown.
