Dassault Mirage G
The Dassault Mirage G was a design for a fast swing-wing multirole fighter, capable of both interception and ground attack with nuclear weapons. The Mirage G was a single-engine prototype testing variable-geometry techniques.
Originally developed into a two-seat fighter - the Mirage G4 - the French military requested the design be converted into a slightly smaller, single-seat aircraft. The Mirage G8 was an attempt to save some of the weight and costs associated with swing-wing designs. As development proceeded, costs continued to rise, and mission demands changed, causing the eventual cancellation of the project in the mid-1970s.
